The new website is great. I will make good use if it and try and get
intimations in on time! The music is a nice touch. This is an important part
of our ministry in Uphall, West Lothian and beyond. It's also very easy to
use!

Hi all. I used to live in Uphall, Carledubs Avenue, and spent many happy
years there till the early eighties. I used to love going to find conkers
near Middleton Hall. I was in the Boys Brigade at Strathbrock which was most
enjoyable and was at Sunday School or Church on a regular basis.

Hello from Australia,
I'm sure you get tired of family history searchers, but I am descended of
John Wilson (married ?) who with his brothers Robert and William had the
first iron-ore foundry at Wilsontown. John's son George emigrated to
Australia and his daughter Margaret married the Rev. Lachlin Mackinnon
Campbell who emigrated from the Isle of Skye (small world) and George Wilson
built Tasmania's first church in Oatlands and as a wedding gift to the
couple he built The Manse (both still standing). George's brother is the
well known ships surgeon Thomas Braidwood Wilson after whom a town in NSW,
Australia was named.
I am writing a family history and a large part of the book is to be about
the Scots pioneers in our family as I wish to publish this book.
Can anyone assist me with details about the Wilson family before the 3 boys
emigrated?
I would appreciate it so much
god bless
Katrina

My husband and I are planning to visit the area in September to see where
my Dad, William Hunter Anderson, was born on 2 May 1923 in Broxburn. My
grandparents James Creighton Anderson and Isabella Thompson emigrated to
Sydney Australia in 1927-1928 with their 5 children.
Could you give me some advice in tracing their home in Broxburn.
Thanking you
Helen

I am trying to find family of my grandfather, Francis Kane, who married
Charlotte Howison in the Parish Church of Winchburgh on 28th March 1930.
They lived at 48 Stewartfield Broxburn after their marriage. Charlotte
died 13 August 1932 in childbirth. She had twins, a boy and a girl. I found
out what happened to the girl but have never been able to trace the
boy who was adopted by friends we think. My grandfather's wife's death
was registered in Uphall and their marriage was registered in Kirkliston.
Can anyone help as I will be visiting the area soon tracing my roots.
Thanks.
